More environmental and climate protection through more careful use of natural resources is one of the top issues when it comes to packaging for the consumer goods industry. How to systematically achieve sustainable packaging that meets all industry-specific requirements and at the same time protects the climate and resources is the daily challenge of our packaging development.

ALSO CONVINCES OUR CUSTOMERS:
Real sustainability through closed circularity.
Approaches for environmentally friendly solutions in the packaging sector, we are guests on the podcast of MEHRWEG HEROES.
In this exciting episode of MEHRWEG HEROES, Felix Borgerding and Oliver Reinke welcome our colleagues Marco von Döllen and Sven Hoping to talk about circular solutions in the plastics industry.
Innovations and challenges at Spouts.
In Innoform Podcast Karsten Schröder joins Lea Middendorf and Mike Landwehr from Pöppelmann to talk about a key topic in flexible packaging: spouts.
This component is an essential part of pouch packaging and plays an important role in handling and the consumer experience.
Our climate strategy:
Awarded and validated.
Awarded and validated.
The goal of sustainable management and action has shaped the corporate objectives at Pöppelmann for many years. We have been participating in the European Union's „Eco-Management and Audit Scheme“ (EMAS) on a voluntary basis since 1996. In 2021, we decided to expand our established environmental and energy management system to include a climate management system. In this context, we have expanded the key aspect of greenhouse gas emissions to include our Scope 3 emissions, set ourselves science-based climate targets and formulated a climate program.

In 2023, this was followed by validation by the Science Based Targets initiative. This confirmed that our climate targets are in line with the 1.5 degree target of the Paris Climate Agreement.
The Ellen MacArthur Foundation's Global Commitment Progress Report 2024 was published in November 2024. Pöppelmann is one of only seven reporting companies from Germany (124 companies report worldwide).
Since 2009, the Federal Ministry for the Environment, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce have been recognizing companies for their ambitious climate protection goals and efforts in energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies. In March 2023, we were recognized as a „climate protection company“.

Materials from household recycling collections can be used in the manufacture of our nonfood packaging. This results in a PCR plastic content of at least 80% of the total product. This is scientifically proven by the RecyClass" label.
From development to series production: All from a single source.
We never hesitate to take on a challenge and are always willing to explore new avenues together with our customers. We can respond quickly and flexibly to a wide range of requirements, using our own moldmaking facilities, state-of-the-art machinery and technologies such as injection molding, thermoforming and thermoforming with IML (T-IML).
